After contacting Janice's father, Max Wylie, they made a grim discovery: the bodies of Janice and Hoffert in one of the bedrooms. The tragic event, dubbed the "Career Girl Murders" by the press, sent shockwaves through the usually serene Upper East Side, leaving residents, especially young women, feeling exposed and fearful.

In Point Hope, Alaska, a 16-year-old boy was arraigned on 16 felony counts for the shooting deaths of two individuals.

Represented by a public defender, Guy Nashookpuk entered not guilty pleas for charges including first- and second-degree murder.

The names of the victims have not been disclosed, and details of the incident in the remote village have been limited.

Nashookpuk's bail remains at $1 million, set during his initial appearance.

James Doran, 30, has been charged with one count of murder after allegedly killing his 65-year-old mother, Lillian Doran.

The incident occurred in Blackwood, N.J., following an argument over James cutting a tattoo off his leg.

Witnesses reported hearing banging sounds and seeing James leave the residence with his mother's vehicle.

He was later apprehended in Bedford, Pa., by Pennsylvania State Police.

Doran was found with blood on his clothing and a baseball bat in the trunk of the car.
