Renter Arrested in Case of Connecticut News Anchor Heidi Voight Mother's Homicide

A suspect has been arrested in the second-degree murder case of Claudia M. Voight, the mother of Heidi Voight, a news anchor in Connecticut.

Shawn Conlon, age 44, was apprehended after the Vermont State Police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Claudia Voight was found dead in her home in Windham, Vt., on February 20.

Initially thought to be a result of a medical event, her death was later determined to be a homicide caused by neck compression.

Heidi Voight confirmed her mother's murder on social media and expressed her family's grief and frustration over the ongoing investigation.

Conlon, who had been renting a room in Voight's home, was captured in a hotel in Groton, Conn., and is currently being held on a $1 million bail.

The suspect is expected to be extradited to Vermont to face charges.

Man Convicted of First-Degree Murder for Killing Child's Mother Over False STD Beliefs

Keith Agee has been convicted of first-degree murder for shooting and killing his child's mother, Brooklyn Sims.

Prosecutors say Agee committed the crime because he falsely believed Sims had given him a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

Agee was found guilty but not on a charge of aggravated battery related to injuries sustained by others at the scene.

Sims was shot to death while working at Home Depot in Pensacola, Florida, and Agee was immediately arrested.

Evidence presented in court proved Sims did not have an STD.

Agee's mother, Sheila Agee, was also arrested and charged with murder for allegedly helping plan the crime. Sheila Agee awaits trial and has pleaded not guilty.

Cold Case of 1995 Murder Solved Using DNA Evidence

The 1995 cold case of the killing of 84-year-old Wilma Mobley has finally been solved.

New advancements in DNA technology and evidence collected from Mobley's underclothing led authorities to her neighbor, Danny Lee Kennison, who died by suicide in 2001.

Kennison had been a potential suspect throughout the investigation, but without conclusive evidence, the case went cold.

However, in March 2023, items were sent for testing to the state police forensic lab, and technicians reported finding a significant amount of Kennison's DNA on a clasp of Mobley's underclothing.

With no other DNA profiles present, the Jerome Police Department is closing the case.

Unsolved Triple Homicide in Phoenix Leaves Family Searching for Answers

Twenty-year-old Samantha Valenzuela's life was forever changed when her sister, Melissa Mason, and her best friend, Nicole Glass, were found dead in their Phoenix, Arizona home on December 3, 2010.

Samantha had been trying to contact Melissa when she received a call informing her that Melissa and Nicole were dead.

Both women had been strangled, and Melissa, who was eight weeks pregnant, was a victim of a triple homicide.

The case remains unsolved, with investigators exhausting leads and lacking a motive.

The Phoenix Police Department, in partnership with Silent Witness, has placed the case on their cold case deck and is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
