On November 15, 2002, 61-year-old widower Nathaniel Jones was found brutally beaten and bound with tape in his Winston-Salem carport. For two decades, the community has been devastated by the senseless crime, with the key question being: who was responsible?

A man, Michael Dean Davis Jr., has been arrested and charged with murder by the Leon County Sheriff's Office after human remains linked to a missing person's case were found on a property in Buffalo, Texas.

The remains belong to a mother who has not been seen since July 2022.

Initially reported missing in June, both the mother and her child were entered into the National Crime Information Center.

The investigation revealed Davis as a suspect, who was apprehended in November.

The remains are believed to be those of Mahogany Washington, the mother of Davis' son, who is currently in Child Protective Services.

Davis is held on a $3 million bond.

Multiple agencies were involved in the arrest and recovery of the child.

A knife-wielding suspect, Ramon Rivera, with a history of arrests, killed two men and critically wounded a woman in unprovoked attacks in New York City.

The woman succumbed to her injuries at Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Rivera was caught by a good Samaritan cab driver and is now in police custody.

The attacks appeared random and unprovoked, with Rivera using large kitchen knives covered in blood.

Mayor Eric Adams emphasized the failure of the criminal justice and mental health systems in preventing such tragedies.

The suspect's trial is ongoing.
