An Indiana man, Fred Bandy Jr., has been sentenced to life in prison for the 1975 murder of 17-year-old Laurel Jean Mitchell.

Mitchell was found drowned in a river after failing to return home from work at a church camp.

Bandy, along with John Wayne Lehman, was charged last year in her killing.

DNA testing on Mitchell's clothing linked Bandy to the crime.

Lehman received an eight-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.
