Mary Carbone, 60, pleaded guilty to the aggravated manslaughter of her housemate, 55-year-old Frank Stochel, in 2020 in Manchester Township, NJ.

Carbone used a wooden board, tape dispenser, and shower curtain rod to kill Stochel, who was found deceased in their home.

Carbone initially claimed she found the body but later her fingerprints were found on the murder weapon, leading to her arrest.

The murder charge was reduced to aggravated manslaughter due to proof issues.

Carbone is set to be sentenced to 10 years in prison on September 13.

Prior to the incident, there were multiple domestic violence reports from the home.

Phoenix police arrested 37-year-old Sergio Reyes in connection to the cold case murder of 15-year-old Elena Lasswell, 20 years after her death.

Reyes was extradited from Mexico and booked on charges including sexual assault and first-degree murder.

Elena was found dead in her bedroom in 2004, and the case went cold despite efforts from Silent Witness.

In 2013, DNA evidence linked Reyes to the crime, leading to an indictment.

After years of extradition efforts, Reyes was located and brought back to face charges, thanks to the U.S. Marshals Service.
