University of Cincinnati Confirms Suspect in Custody After Deadly Campus Shooting

On July 1, 2024, the University of Cincinnati's public safety department confirmed that a suspect was in custody following a shooting near the university campus.

Three people were found dead and two others injured in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police responded to gunshots on Highland and East University avenues at around 2:50 a.m.

Students were promptly notified of the incident.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victims were transported to local hospitals where two more were pronounced dead.

The suspect, who fled into a home with a firearm, was later captured by police.

Texas Teenager Sentenced to 40 Years for Murdering Mother and Driving Body to Nebraska

Tyler Roenz, a Texas teenager, pleaded guilty to murder in connection with his mother's death in 2022.

He strangled his 49-year-old mother, Michelle Roenz, at home in Humble, Texas, then stashed her body in the trunk of the family car and drove to Nebraska.

Tyler was sentenced to 40 years in prison and must serve at least half before parole eligibility.

Authorities tracked him using license-plate readers as he drove through Oklahoma and Kansas, leading to his arrest in Nebraska.

Michelle's body was found in the car, and the cause of death was determined to be blunt-force trauma and strangulation.

Justice for Angel Baby Doe: Shelby Stotts Indicted for 2nd-Degree Manslaughter

Shelby Stotts has been indicted for 2nd-degree manslaughter for the death of her newborn daughter, known as Angel Baby Doe, who was abandoned 23 years ago in Johnson County.
