Ex-gangster Duane "Keefe D" Davis has reportedly been able to pay his $750,000 bail ahead of his upcoming trial for the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.

He informed the court of his ability to pay on Thursday.

Davis, one of Tupac's alleged killers, is set to appear before Judge Carli Kierny to receive the conditions of his release.

Despite pleading not guilty and claiming his nephew was the actual murderer, Davis may face challenges as prosecutors seek to verify the source of the bail money.

The case has seen new developments as the DA's team works to gather evidence and potential new witnesses.

Murad Dervish, a former University of Arizona graduate student, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing hydrology professor Thomas Meixner on campus.

Meixner, the head of the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences, was shot 11 times near his office.

Dervish was expelled for ongoing issues with professors, including a bad grade.

He was also convicted on five other charges, including aggravated assault.

Dervish's attorney argued he was in a psychotic episode during the shooting, but prosecutors presented evidence of premeditation.

Dervish was arrested after fleeing the scene and will spend the rest of his life in prison.
