Leslie Preer was found dead in her home in May 2001.

A man has been arrested in connection with her homicide, identified as Eugene Teodor Gligor.

DNA evidence collected at the crime scene in 2001 was used in genealogical DNA analysis, leading to Gligor's arrest in 2022.

Preer's daughter, Lauren, revealed that Gligor was her ex-boyfriend before her mother's death, and she never suspected him until now.

Gligor, now 44, has been charged with first-degree murder and is awaiting extradition.

The motive and cause of death have not been disclosed.

No plea has been entered or attorney retained for Gligor.
