Italian immigrant Joe Petrosino rose to become the first Italian detective in the NYPD, leading the Italian Squad to combat the Black Hand and Mafia in early 20th century New York City.

Despite facing discrimination, Petrosino's bravery and innovative policing methods helped dismantle the criminal organizations terrorizing his people.

Tragically, Petrosino was assassinated in Sicily in 1909, leaving behind a legacy of courage and dedication to justice.

His work laid the foundation for modern law enforcement tactics used by agencies like the FBI and Secret Service.

The Black Hand eventually faded away, thanks in part to Petrosino's efforts.

Chris McMullin, a retired police officer, worked on an unsolved case involving the remains of a pregnant Jane Doe found in an abandoned distillery in 1988.

Despite various efforts, including DNA testing and forensic sculpture, the Jane Doe remained unidentified.

However, through investigative genetic genealogy in 2020, the Doe was finally identified as Lisa Todd, who disappeared in 1985.

Her siblings confirmed her identity, bringing closure to her family after nearly two decades of searching.

The Bensalem Police Department continues to investigate Todd's case, seeking information on what happened to her.

On September the 7th 1974, 30 year old Tom Hewitt had been at his garage on Bright Street in Bury. At around 11:30am, a co-owner of the garage turned up and found Tom with severe head injuries. He later died from his injuries. Despite appeals, a reconstruction and a £10 000 reward, Tom's case is still unsolved and his family deserve answers.
