Carlos Yadiel Baez-Nieves, a man in central Florida, has been identified as a potential serial killer after confessing to the murders of Fatia Flowers and Nichole Daniels.

Both victims were sex workers who were picked up by Baez-Nieves in his truck, sexually assaulted, strangled, and then dumped at an intersection.

Sheriff John Mina believes Baez-Nieves targeted vulnerable women deliberately.

Fortunately, detectives were able to prevent further killings by arresting him.

Baez-Nieves tried to sell his truck after the murders, leading to his arrest. He is currently in jail facing murder charges.

The case is being closely monitored for justice.

ABC13 learned about the arrest of 31-year-old Derek Fischer, charged with murder and tampering with evidence in connection with Jennifer Ramirez's shooting death.

Ramirez's body was found in a shallow grave in Houston. Police initially had no suspects but later identified Fischer.

Fischer, also serving deferred adjudication for a family assault, was apparently dating Ramirez at the time.

The motive remains unknown. Fischer's bond was set at $150,000. Ramirez's family expressed hope she would overcome addiction and rebuild relationships.

The victim's family believes she did not deserve what happened to her.
