Tragic Shooting in Toledo: Son Arrested in Mother's Death Amidst Mistaken Identity

In a heartbreaking incident, 18-year-old Joshua Brown of Toledo faces a Reckless Homicide charge for the shooting death of his mother, Deborah Baker, 53, on Nov. 20. Brown, allegedly mistaking his mother for an intruder, fired a single shot when he heard someone walking up the stairs.

Responders rushed Baker to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Brown, arrested and booked into the Lucas County jail, now contends with a $200,000 bond. As the investigation unfolds, questions of mistaken identity cast a somber shadow over this tragic event.
