The FBI is assisting in the investigation into the cold case murder of a Dayton police officer, Kevin Brame.

His mother, Rosemary, fondly remembers him as a wonderful son and father.

It has been nearly 25 years since Kevin was fatally shot, and the case remains unsolved.

Recently, Dayton police assigned detectives to reexamine the case, with FBI's help offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest of suspects.

Rosemary and Gerry, Kevin's parents, hope for justice to be served.

The investigation continues in hopes of resolving this violent crime that took place in 1999.

The bench trial of Curtis Padgett, accused of first-degree murder in the killing of Dennis First in 2007, began with opening statements and witness testimonies in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The trial will proceed without a jury, leaving the fate of Padgett in the hands of a judge.

Evidence presented included details of Padgett's threats to burn down his residence and subsequent arrest for harassment, followed by the charge in First's death.

Witnesses testified to hearing arguments between the two men prior to First's death.

Autopsy results showed First had experienced blunt-force injuries.

Padgett is also linked to another missing person's case involving Erin Pospisil in 2001.

‎Some time ago, the audiochuck team received an email from the family of Kirsten Leonard, requesting coverage of her case. The email, sent by her nephew Karsten, named in her memory, spoke of an aunt he never met. In June 1986, at only 22, Kirsten fell victim to a senseless and brutal murder.
